I first met Valerie at a comp volleyball game where our girls were playing on the same team. She asked if I was the photographer her daughter was following. Hannah had entered one of my mini session giveaway. She didn’t win the contest, but was given a discounted mini session for her senior pictures, if she liked. Valerie’s daughter, Hannah, was one of my graduating seniors for this year. I had the best time getting to know mother and daughter. You can see some of her senior session here.
Valerie mentioned her desire for family portraits and we kept in touch. She texted me the beginning of May and we got the family on the schedule.
It takes a lot of time and effort to find locations for my sessions, but it’s totally worth it! The time I spend on these drives is my way of preparing and showing my clients how much I care about their experience. I try to stay away from the crowds, but sometimes the location is just too good not to utilize. So we get creative.
Most dads I’ve worked with, are just the best sports. They dislike getting their pictures taken, but do it because it’s important to the women in their lives. Aaron was no exception. I asked him to do some interesting things and we my have played some music. Probably made him feel just a little uncomfortable, but he was a trooper!
These three sisters were such sweethearts to work with. Watching their interactions with each other did my mamma heart some good. I could sense they really do treasure each other.
I consider it an honor whenever my families/couples return for more portrait sessions with me. I’m so grateful to have met the rest of the Lyells family. They were a joy to work with and I hope to keep in touch with this amazing people. Contact me to experience your next family/couple session!
