Getting ready for the holidays apparently hasn’t done me in yet and I’ve been looking for opportunities to practice my skills and try new locations for my photography sessions coming up in 2020.
A great way to do this is to participate in a styled shoot and I had time in my schedule to attend this one in Utah County up by Tibble Fork Dam. These styled shoots are nice to attend because all the hard work of getting the models, gowns, flowers, etc has been taken care of and I can just show up and exercise my creative muscles!
Kaitlynn Putnam was the coordinator for this shoot and also the genius behind the floral arrangements, @sweetaftonfloral , used in every picture. I’m in love with anything evergreen and the red and white just popped off her arrangements!
Our model couple, Aya & Caleb, were awesome to work with and aren’t they a gorgeous newly wed couple? They’ve only been married for about 6 months; they got married when it was much warmer and in Las Vegas! Such a change in venue! I also discovered that we have motorcycles in common! These two ride Ducati monsters and lucky Aya has the long legs to straddle her bike; whereas I have only short stubby legs to try and ride my Triumph Street Triple! That’s why I tend to get a little nervous on my motorcycle and don’t take every opportunity to ride. That needs to change.
Beautiful dresses were also available from @somethingborrowedbridals in Utah County. I loved the keyhole backing on the lace, two toned dress that Aya wore first. I was unaware she came with, not one but two dresses and the second was so sparkly in the sun; I was in love! So fun to photograph and have our bride twirl and show off these fabulous dresses!
This turned out to be a perfect day for getting some beautiful pictures, meeting some talented professionals and seeing some great new locations for photography sessions. I love, love, LOVE pine trees and Tibble Fork Canyon did not disappoint!
A few more shout outs to our hair and makeup profs:
A beautiful session was had by all because of all of those involved! Thank you everyone!
