Brooks Family

The autumn season is quickly coming to an end here in Northern Utah and I always feel as if I haven’t taken all the opportunities afforded me to be out and about during my favorite time of year. Too many school activities and other things keeping me off the mountain trails or just going for a late afternoon walk around my neighborhood. The crispness of the air, warm afternoons and the smell of decaying leaves always leaves me a little nostalgic for the carefree days of my childhood.

The Brooks family is so good at keeping up on documenting their growing family on a regular basis. I was afforded the opportunity to be on the other side of that camera this time. This family session came with an added bonus; I got to conspire with Kyeron on how he was to propose to Jaclynn! A surprise proposal! I’ve never had this kind of opportunity and jumped at the chance! Kyeron and I were able to pin down the details of how he wanted to carry this out after a bit of brainstorming. I was so impressed that he would ask for Jaclynn’s hand in marriage with her whole family present, but the Brooks are some kind of special!

Long story short, it all went off without a hitch and Jaclynn and Kyeron will be setting a date next year! It was so much fun to be a part of such an exciting moment for a family that I have grown to adore. I wish all the best things for our newly engaged couple and for the families that they each will be joining.

We decided to have Jaclynn pose with Kyeron behind her so he could get down on one knee to surprise her. Jaclynn’s nephew was behind me holding up a sign asking “Will You Marry Me?” Jaclynn saw the sign and spun around to find Kyeron on his knee and the rest is history!!
